Focusing on e-business, e-government, Organisational Knowledge, e-work and Knowledge Work and eEurope 2005, the goal of e-2003 is to stimulate rapid take-up of ICT related Research and Technology Development (RTD) results by European industry in general and SMEs in particular. It provides an excellent networking environment to share success stories, lessons learnt and exchange experience from Information and Communications Technology (ICT) related Regional and National initiatives as well as European funded research initiatives.

e-2003 will provide a forum to highlight the achievements of FP5 as well as ICT related Regional and National initiatives, and look forward to the future by focusing on the thematic priorities under FP6. The creation of the 'European Research Area' (ERA) (an internal market for science and technology) will also be discussed, as this is a key political goal of FP6.

The programme will combine strategic keynote presentations with case studies and technical, legal and policy papers in specific thematic areas. The exhibition will feature live technology demonstrations and posters outlining potential industrial benefits of national, regional and European funded project results.

The core thematic priorities for e-2003 are:

- e-business
